Subject: classroom fundraising opportunity with the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society – Manitoba Chapter

The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society – Manitoba Chapter is a not-for-profit charitable organization working to ensure the protection of our province’s boreal wildlife and wilderness. Each year CPAWS produces a Manitoba Boreal Wilderness Calendar filled with compelling photographs of Manitoba’s boreal wildlife and wild landscapes.

Additionally, the calendar contains educational information on species, ecosystems, watersheds and CPAWS Manitoba campaign areas. The calendar is both a critical public education tool as well as a fundraising opportunity for our organization.

In an effort to raise awareness among Manitoba’s youth of the importance of boreal forest conservation and to provide a fundraising opportunity both for schools and our organization, we are offering a school fundraising program to interested teachers/classes where CPAWS provides calendars to classes at no cost, and classes get 50% of the proceeds of the calendars sold. Calendars unsold are taken back by CPAWS at no cost.

This fundraising initiative is available until December 31, 2017. Calendars will be sold for $15.00 each where $7.50 goes to the student group or classroom doing the fundraising; the remainder goes to CPAWS.  Each calendar includes $63 in special offers from Sage Garden Greenhouses, Oh Doughnuts! and Hollow Reed Holistic.

Use of revenue accrued by the school group is up to their discretion while all revenue provided to CPAWS will stay in Manitoba and go directly into our conservation efforts!
